1. What Unwindly Is (and Isn't)

Unwindly is a self-help journaling app that uses techniques inspired by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It is:

• A tool for personal reflection and growth
• A way to practice evidence-based journaling techniques
• A private space for your thoughts

It is NOT:

• A replacement for professional mental health care
• A medical device or diagnostic tool
• A crisis intervention service

If you're in crisis, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline.

2. Your Account

You don't need an account to use Unwindly. If you create one for sync features:

• You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure
• You must be at least 13 years old
• You must provide accurate information

3. Purchases & Subscriptions

Free Trial

Unwindly offers a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. No payment is charged during the trial period. If you do not subscribe before the trial ends, access to premium features will be restricted.

Subscription Plans

After the free trial, Unwindly is available through the following plans:

• Monthly — $9.99/month, auto-renewable monthly subscription
• Yearly — $39.99/year, auto-renewable annual subscription
• Lifetime — $49.99, one-time purchase granting permanent access

Prices shown in USD. Actual prices may vary by region and are set by Apple.

All subscription plans include every feature, including end-to-end encrypted sync between devices. Subscription terms:

• Auto-renewable subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Manage or cancel anytime in your device's subscription settings (App Store)
• Payment is processed through Apple, not directly by Unwindly

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple (App Store) according to their policies. Contact Apple support for refund requests.

4. Your Content

Your journal entries, moods, and other personal data belong to you. We:

• Don't claim ownership of your content
• Don't access your content (it's stored locally or encrypted)
• Don't use your content for training AI or any other purpose

You can export or delete your data at any time.

If you cancel your subscription, your journal entries remain on your device. Cancellation restricts access to premium features but never deletes your data. You can always export your entries in JSON or CSV format from Settings — even without an active subscription. Your entries are stored locally and belong to you.

5. Acceptable Use

Don't use Unwindly to:

• Store illegal content
• Attempt to breach security
• Interfere with the service
• Violate others' rights

6. Intellectual Property

Unwindly's code, design, and content are protected by copyright. You may not:

• Reverse engineer the app
• Copy or redistribute app content
• Use our branding without permission

Service Disclaimer: Unwindly is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uninterrupted service or that the app will meet your specific needs.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unwindly and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of München, Germany.
